Between 1995 and 1998 Groundwork and Erewash Borough Council published five leaflets of Family Walks based on local villages. The walks had elements of Village Trails and Country Walks, examples of both of which can be found elsewhere on this site but the walks described in the leaflets are relatively short and are designed with families in mind. I have had copies for many years and often perused them when pondering locations for Ilkeston Cam updates. I have not used them previously as they tend to overlap with places I have covered at one time or another but I have decided to add this section to the website and will dip into it periodically. I acknowledge that I will be revisiting some places visited previously but hope the walks will provide an alternative perspective of some familiar sites. All the leaflets are still available to download from the Council's website and the appropriate links are below on the right. Bear in mind though that boundaries and paths may have been changed or diverted since the first publication of the leaflets.
