Ilkeston - Autumn Leaves
w/e 05 November 2023
All of this week's pictures were taken with a Nikon D3300.
What a difference a week makes.
Last week our walk along the Erewash Canal revealed only a few
autumn colours but now many of the tree-lined streets around
the town centre are revealing their true autumn glory as these
images show.

Millfield Road.

Park Drive.
|

For months now the trees along Park Drive and Park Avenue have
obscured the chapels at Park Cemetery but now with the leaves
falling, it will soon be visible from Nottingham Road.
|

The trees along Cantelupe Road at the side of the cemetery are
forming a golden tunnel.
|

There is a variety of autumnal hues on Chaucer Old Park ranging
from brown, red, orange, yellow and even pink.
|

The path towards the town centre is becoming leaf covered and
can be quite hazardous in wet or damp conditions.
|

Even from under the canopy of trees along the path, distant colours
shine through between the trunks.
|

And where two paths intersect, the change from green to autumn
colours is apparent both near and far.
|

After passing under Chalons Way the climb up to the Erewash Museum,
whether by the steps or the path, is through the changing season.
|

On the Market Place the change from summer to autumn is obvious
but at the current rate of change, all the leaves will soon be
gone and for the winter months St Mary's Church will be visible
through the skeletal branches.
