Ilkeston - Summer Sounds
w/e 30 July 2023
All of this week's pictures were taken with a Nikon D3300.

Summer Sounds returned to Victoria Park last Sunday afternoon
(July 23rd) and a large crowd had already descended on the park
shortly after the opening at 3:00pm.
|

People were all over the park but most had congregated around
the Bandstand.
|

The first performer to grace the Bandstand was Alan Becks who
gave a lively 50s rock'n'roll performance to get the audience
in the mood for the acts that were booked to follow - a Marti
Pellow tribute, a Kylie tribute and a Take That tribute to close
the event by 7:00pm.
|

The rock'n'roll music was obviously greatly appreciated by some
of those present as they left their seats to dance to the music.
|

Others were content to watch from the park benches whilst more
perused the stalls that lined the path, the one towards the right
being hosted by the Methodist Church on behalf of all Ilkeston
Churches.
|

The local History Society had a large selection of their own
publications which they were hoping to sell from the new gazebo
that they were proudly showing off.
|

You could also join in the fun and have your face painted - but
only if you were over three years of age.
|

Ice cream was available from Mr Whippy.
|

And hot food was on sale at the Carvery with Donuts and Slush
Puppies available in the next stall along.
|

This fine body of men were on hand to ensure everyone's safety
throughout the event.
