Ilkeston - December In The Park
w/e 13 December 2020
All of this week's pictures were
taken with a Kodak DX6490

I was in the town centre and had half an hour to kill before
I needed to be somewhere else so there was just enough time for
a walk through Victoria Park.
|

A sign near the gates showed the cafe was open although I wouldn't
have enough time on this occasion to partake of a hot coffee
(and they are really hot) - even if it was a take-away.
|

Apart from the evergreens all the trees along Bristol Road have
now lost their leaves.
|

I walked along the main path passing the pergola to the bandstand.
|

From the bandstand overlooking the central beds the Duke Oak
on the corner in its leafless state still makes an impression.
|

I returned from the bandstand to the main path towards the sun
which filtered through the silhouetted trees.
|

I turned off the main path by the metal soldier artwork and headed
towards the children's play area.
|

I then spent a couple of minutes watching several acrobatic squirrels
scampering through the trees.
|

Turning to walk by the central beds I could see the cafe in the
bowling green pavilion which looked to be quite busy and doing
a steady trade.
|

At the other end of the central beds, I took one last look back
before starting off again for the town centre.
