Ilkeston - December In The Park
w/e 13 December 2020
All of this week's pictures were taken with a Kodak DX6490

Victoria Park

I was in the town centre and had half an hour to kill before I needed to be somewhere else so there was just enough time for a walk through Victoria Park.
Cafe Sign

A sign near the gates showed the cafe was open although I wouldn't have enough time on this occasion to partake of a hot coffee (and they are really hot) - even if it was a take-away.
Bristol Road

Apart from the evergreens all the trees along Bristol Road have now lost their leaves.
Pergola

I walked along the main path passing the pergola to the bandstand.
Duke Oak

From the bandstand overlooking the central beds the Duke Oak on the corner in its leafless state still makes an impression.
Silhouettes

I returned from the bandstand to the main path towards the sun which filtered through the silhouetted trees.
Artwork

I turned off the main path by the metal soldier artwork and headed towards the children's play area.

Squirrel

I then spent a couple of minutes watching several acrobatic squirrels scampering through the trees.
Cafe

Turning to walk by the central beds I could see the cafe in the bowling green pavilion which looked to be quite busy and doing a steady trade.
Central Beds

At the other end of the central beds, I took one last look back before starting off again for the town centre.
