Moorgreen - Scarecrow Trail
w/e 04 June 2017
All of this week's pictures were
taken with a Kodak DX6490
We've had a couple of weeks of good weather and the
worst weather of the fortnight saved itself for Bank Holiday
Monday. That didn't deter the Residents' Association of Moorgreen
from going ahead with their Scarecrow Trail on the 28th and 29th
of May and when we went on the second day we still managed to
miss the rain.

The theme of this year's event was "Costumes of the World"
and our first stop was in Mexico.
|

Ireland was well represented with several scarecrows dressed
in emerald green at various points in the village.
|

There were also a number of Welsh representatives, this one also
proudly displaying a flag.
|

England was also represented in various guises including an English
Gentleman sitting on his lawn complete with a bulldog and a couple
of tins of lager.
|

Another aspect of Englishness saw "Bernard" standing
guard at the end of a drive.
|

Our antipodean counterpart lounging on the beach - actually it
was a gravel drive - was surrounded by "tinnies" whilst
wrestling with a crocodile.
|

The USA found representation in an effigy of the President lurking
behind a hedge whilst close by was an Hawaiian beauty.
|

Continental Europe featured with a French Onion seller.
|

The Italian gondolier selling "Just One Cornetto" was
raising money for the MacMillan Cancer charity.
|

The last scarecrow in this selection was at the end of a drive
off the main road where a Middle Eastern gentleman sheltering
under a tree was also advertising the Beauvale Horticultural
Show which is to be held at the next Bank Holiday at the end
of August.
