Ilkeston Cam On Holiday
In South West Wales - Part Eighteen
A Miscellany Of Images
The
photos on this page were taken during July 2002
With the camera
on the lowest quality and resolution setting, I came home from
Pembrokeshire with over 270 images on a 20mb card. Some of them
were not even worth downloading but in the last seventeen parts
I have displayed over 100 of them on this site. In this the final
part, here are half a dozen of what I consider to to be the "Best
of The Rest". You can pick your favourite from these and
vote for it below.

This first
one was an experimental shot into the sun of an almost deserted
Saundersfoot Beach early one morning. The view across the almost
motionless waters of the Bristol Channel is towards the Gower
Peninsula, Swansea and South Wales.

While we were
in Saundersfoot, the beach was put up for sale and on the same
morning as the experimental picture, a television crew were filming
an interview against his ice cream van with the owner on the
beach.
|
Most days
while we were out and about, we enjoyed a picnic lunch and the
Manorbier Bakery in Saundersfoot became a regular stop during
our early morning walks to purchase our packed lunches. The Pembrokeshire
Pasties, Wales' answer to the more famous Cornish Pasties, were
especially good.
|
You can see
some images from our visit to Llangloffan Cheese Centre, in Part 14 but this the inquisitive farm cat there, was
a firm favourite with visiting children.
|
And in Tenby
a trio of gulls certainly made the presence heard.
|
But we ended
our sojourn in South West Wales with another pre-breakfast walk
on Saturday morning to Saundersfoot Harbour. This view from beneath
the harbour wall and between the beached boats is towards St
Brides Hill. And just look at that sky - the promise of another
warm sunny day and not a drop of rain all week! Who said you
don't get good holiday weather in the UK?
