Ilkeston Cam On Holiday
In South West Wales - Part Five
Saundersfoot - Evening
and Morning
The
photos on this page were taken on Sunday 14th and Monday 15th
July
It was our
custom during our stay in Saundersfoot to walk from the hotel
after our evening meal to the harbour area of the village and
on Sunday we even made it onto the beach.
|
Walking along
the northern arm of the harbour, we reached the end just in time
to see the day's catch being brought in. There seemed an urgency
about the harbour on this Sunday evening - presumably it was
to do with the state of the tide.
|
There was
much activity among the smaller craft too as many of the weekenders
prepared to remove their boats from the water and take them away
until the following week.
|
We watched
for a while as trailer-towing cars were reversed down to the
water's edge and small boats were winched out of the sea. There
was much to-ing and fro-ing in a small dinghy and we half expected
the "three men in a boat" to capsize but they reached
dry land safely.
|
Early the
following morning we were again down in the (at this time) sparsely
populated village centre to buy a daily newspaper. And that was
before breakfast even!
|
Then it was
back along the road towards Tenby to the hotel for breakfast.
Later in the day these streets would be full of fellow holidaymakers
but by then, we would be off exploring more of Pembrokeshire.
And where did we get to on Monday? I'll show you in Part Six.
