Wollaton - Winter Light Trail
w/e 21 December 2025
All of this week's pictures were
taken with a a Nikon D3300 camera or a Samsung SM-G781B Mobile
Phone

We were treated to an evening walk through Wollaton Park's
Winter Light Trail and here are just a few images of the many
light installations on the Trail.

As we approached the entrance to the Trail searchlight
beams that we had seen from much further away could be seen emanating
from the Hall.
|

A sleigh stands in front (which is actually the rear)
of the Hall and the seat provides the perfect position for visitors
to sit for photos.
|

We've often seen the dinosaur model that stands at the
side of the Hall but it's been joined by some illuminated friends
for the Winter Light Trail along with some dinosaur eggs that
change colour if touched.
|

In the wooded area next to the Hall there are several
displays of woodland flora and fauna including toadstools and
squirrels.
|

A small building in the grounds has been transformed to form
Santa's house.
|

A temporary path across the lawns lined with candy canes
leads to a gingerbread house.
|

And for the romantics other temporary paths offer a choice of
route through heart shaped structures.
|

The Camellia House has been transformed with strings of swinging
strobe lights that cycled through various colours in a foggy
atmodphere. They were caught here in the red phase of the cycle.
|

The trail around the Hall continues passing numerous other installations
like these large gold stars.
|

It eventually leads back to the Hall - this is actually the front
where light displays were being projected on to the walls. Look
closely and you might see the shadow of Santa Claus on his sleigh
being pulled by reindeer at the top of the building.
All that remains now is to wish all the visitors to Ilkeston
Cam
A Very Happy Christmas.
