Ilkeston - Christmas Past

All of this week's pictures were
taken with various cameras
It was Charles Dickens that wrote about the Ghost
of Christmas Past in his story "A Christmas Carol"
in 1843 but this selection of images, like Dickens' story , are
all from the past. Not quite as far back as Dickens as they were
all taken as Christmas approached in the last ten years.
This is from a Christmas Concert given by local schoolchildren
in the Park Cemetery Chapel 2014.

Three Star Wars characters promoting the latest film in the series
coincided with a visit from Father Christmas in 2015.

This Nativity scene from 2016 must have been taken on Christmas
Day as the baby was in the manger.

And this view of a deserted Market Place was taken about midday
on Christmas Day 2017.

Christingles were prepared the day before the Christingle service
in 2018.

The traditional Christmas Eve Carol Service in 2019 was held
around the Christmas Tree. The annual Town Service is now held
in St Mary's Church.

Christmas Jumpers are usually on sale in December and these were
offered from a market stall in 2020.
